[Framers] Revisiting graphic formats, png or something else?

For screen captures, using PNG is the best way to go, IMHO. In our modern web/storage era, the size of HTML files should not be a constraint here.

JPG is for pictures (can create pixel artifacts with images like screen captures - random dots with colors not from the original, etc.).

GIF (at least the earlier formats) is too restrictive in the number of possible colors - this may not be an issue with your images, but why bother worrying about it.

I create PDF files, which are generally viewed on screen, and possibly printed by end-users from time to time, and responsive HTML help files.

The user guides contain screen captures in .png format.

Keeping the size of the HTML files down in important.

Is there are better option than png?
