You need to set a custom job options file that specifically embeds these fonts and use this file to create your pdf. When I get back to my office this afternoon, I will send a link to this topic in the adobe Framemaker forums that shows visually where and how to do this.HTH.Sent from Samsung Galaxy smartphone.

I'm running FM2020 (from the Adobe Technical Suite) on anew HP EliteBook 84 G6 (Intel core i5-8265U @1.6GHz<mailto:i5 at 1.6GHz>) with8GB of installed RAM. No problems with processing times or open pod issues.FM works fine, thank goodness. My problem:I use Kelson family fonts for my cover/back pages. These fonts, for somereason, don't embed in the file. When I quickly want to create a PDF, I'll use the "Save as PDF" File option.Invariably, the PDF conversion process (via Distiller) gets flushed. To solve the problem, I need to uncheck an option "Do not rely on systemfonts" which can be found only in the Adobe Print settings. And I need to reset this each time I restart FM.Any ideas on how to avoid this slightly annoying problem. Many thanks! And have a great week,Orly>>Hi Alison,>>>>FrameMaker creates PDF files via Save As PDF with its own engine.>>The printer is not involved. This works very well.>>>>There can be requirements that you create the PDF via Distiller, but thisis also automated. You can still use Save As PDF.>>>>You do not need to print to a PostScript file.>>SetPrint cannot be installed (FM 2020 is 64 bit) and is not needed.>>There isn't any headless Distiller in FM 2020.>>>>Best regards>>>>WinfriedOrly ZimmermanTechnical Communicator+972-5-4444-5748www.xsightlabs.com<http://www.xsightlabs.com/>[Logo Description automatically generated]-------------- next part --------------A non-text attachment was scrubbed...Name: image001.jpgType: image/jpegSize: 15320 bytesDesc: image001.jpgURL:<http://lists.frameusers.com/pipermail/framers-frameusers.com/attachments/20210411/3d714eda/attachment.jpg>_______________________________________________This message is from the Framers mailing listSend messages to framers at lists.frameusers.com Visit the list's homepage athttp://www.frameusers.com Archives located athttp://www.mail-archive.com/framers%40lists.frameusers.com/Subscribe and unsubscribe athttp://lists.frameusers.com/listinfo.cgi/framers-frameusers.comSend administrative questions to listadmin at frameusers.com_______________________________________________This message is from the Framers mailing listSend messages to framers at lists.frameusers.comVisit the list's homepage at http://www.frameusers.comArchives located at http://www.mail-archive.com/framers%40lists.frameusers.com/Subscribe and unsubscribe at http://lists.frameusers.com/listinfo.cgi/framers-frameusers.comSend administrative questions to listadmin at frameusers.com _______________________________________________
