[Framers] [EXTERNAL] Adobe Flash Player EOL - How can I still embed video in FM documents saved as PDFs?

It appears that the problem is FrameMaker. The version that I have (12) converts all supported video content (regardless of format) to Flash standard. This apparently means that whenever I "Save as PDF" in FM, the videos in the resultant PDF document require a Flash player to run them. I am going to download a trial version of FM this weekend and see if the problem goes away. These video tutorials are integral our manuals, so if FM-generated PDF documents still will not run the videos, we may be looking at having to find another solution.

If Flash still runs on your machine, can it export the videos to a more common embeddable format?

If it can't export, perhaps you can run the videos in Flash on your machine and record them with another tool. Yeah, lots of work, but probably easier than starting from scratch.

If the existing tutorials are interactive and take user input, well...
