If you ignore it, FrameMaker will do exactly what you want it to do: it will use the numbering properties as set in the book file. FrameMaker warns you so that you can make sure that nothing has inadvertently been changed in the book file's setup. Once you are certain the book's properties are set properly, you can ignore all further inconsistency messages.<br><br>The properties that exist in the individual content files are there so that the file will display the correct numbering if you open and/or print it individually rather than as part of the book. <p class="ecxMsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">This subject must come up regularly. I use the certain documents in several books. When I update those books I have Inconsistent Numbering Properties.</span></p>

<p class="ecxMsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">I open the documents that are named. I set their numbering properties as in the book. But the problem is then put to another document, or same one.</span></p>

<p class="ecxMsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">I only use documents within books. Is there some way to tell FrameMaker or a book to ignore the document numbering – use only the numbering done in the book.</span></p>
