$paratext> appearing in TOC instead of heading text. Help!

Hi,
  I am new Adobe Framemaker user. I have created a book and then I created the TOC (Add>Table of Contents). The Chapter Title text appears as it is but the Heading 1 text appears as $paratext>. Can someone figure out the problem?
