I have a test book with several hundred equations and PDF results from
FM6.0, FM7.0, FM7.1 and FM7.2 are identical (I wish the display quality was
better, but printed results are fine). In all cases, "Adobe PDF" is the
default PS driver; the book is printed to a .ps file and then distilled.

Did you see Adobe Tech Note #328011 [
http://www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/328011.html ] which describes a
specific issue with FM7.0p492 and an unavailable Times font?
