OT: Cassette to MP3

Rick,

You on Mac or PC?

Cheapest/simplest option.

You will need a cassette player, a cable with stereo bayonet jacks at  
each end, one size to fit the player and the other to go into your  
mic input.

On the Mac I have used Sound Studio(?) and it has worked well. On the  
PC you can use the tools that come with with Windows, I think. But  
you will probably need to get an MP3 ripper. There are lots of  
freeware ones you can download, but watch out for spyware.

When I have done this in the past I just played the cassette player  
with a lowish volume, but you might need to fiddle with this until  
you get it right. Too high and it might damage your PC hardware.

You can do the same thing with records too :)
