SiliconPrairie's Paragraph Tools plug-in allows you to search for and kill paragraph overrides. Their Character Tools plug-in does the same thing for character tag overrides.

Don't be put off by third-party cost-plus plug-ins: Steve Kubis is very moderate in his pricing. You will find many other useful tools here...
