Framemaker to PDF - Linking Problem

Thanks to all for your answers!

Doug ... so in other words, in the following example:

"gotolink ../CHAP02/ER_SEC02_03.fm:sec231" (Where sec231 is a newlink marker in that document...)

Frame would creake a link in the pdf file to a file named: "ER_SEC02_03.pdf "?

Would it do anything with the newlink marker (would it try to find that marker in the document for the exact link location?... ie - would it create the link to the newlink marker "sec231" within the ER_SEC02_03.pdf ?)

>If you don't have the book file open, FrameMaker creates PDF links to the PDF files named after the file (that is, it creates links to file_name.pdf rather than to book_name.pdf).  This makes sense.  After all, FrameMaker has no way of knowing which book the file belongs to if the book is not open.  I'm not sure what happens if you have two different books open that reference the same file.
