Footnote formatting problems

   Mark,

   - define a character format for superscripting, say "super"

   - define a x-ref format, say footref of the format

     <super><$paranumonly>)</>

     or (if you want to refer to footnote on another page):

     <super><$paranumonly> on page\ <$pagenum></>

   - Depending on the settings in the Format > Footnotes dialogue you may

     leave off the )

   - </> is shorthand for <Default ¶ Font>

   - At the desired place insert a cross reference to your existing
   footnote

     using the defined x-ref format footref
