Generating a PDF through Adobe Distiller

Hi Brian,

As mentioned elsewhere in this thread, I have reservations about trying to
install Distiller 7 in the presence of Acrobat/Distiller 8. Thank you for
making the suggestion, though.

Lea

Hi Lea:

This is only a guess because I am not familiar with Vista, but I would first
check what version of Acrobat Distiller is installed. I see you are running
Adobe Acrobat Standard 8.0, but Framemaker 7.x requires Acrobat Distiller
7.0. This is separate from Adobe Acrobat itself and can be installed via
your Framemaker CD. (And, yes, this small discrepancy can cause all sorts of
FM surprises).

If you do not have Distiller 7.0 installed, try removing and then
reinstalling FM and choose "Yes" when the installer prompts you with the
option to install Distiller 7.0.

Hope that helps.

Hi,

I'm having trouble using the Save As PDF feature. Here is the relevant
version information:

Windows Vista
Adobe Acrobat Standard 8.0
Framemaker 7.0, unstructured

I can print to PDF just fine, but that doesn't give me the option to mark
Titles as Bookmarks. I get an error which tells me that Frame can't find the
Acrobat Distiller printer instance. If I open Acrobat, Distiller is
available in the Advanced_Print Production menu.

Is there something I'm missing in my Acrobat installation? Is there
something I should have in a script which would connect these two?

Thanks,
Lea
