Sorry, but I have to disagree. The huge amount of on-line discussion by people struggling with Word's numbering contradicts your assertion.

The only reason that your numbering coup was a achievement is  because the Word autonumbering implementation is a miserable kludge that you managed to harness one time. 
If you ever have to inherit a Word file where someone has bollixed the autonumbering scheme, you will find that the document is impossible to repair.

Pulling off the same thing in FM is, well, child's play.
