Auto-numbering figures across files

Ahhh!!! Beautiful!! Thanks, Dave (and everyone else who responded). I didn't know I had to update the book. I knew I was missing something simple. It would have been nice if the FrameMaker help file/manual would have included a note or something reminding us to update the on the page that talks about setting the paragraph number in the properties. It just never occurred to me that I would have to do that as the page numbers update right away when you set the properties for them...

Anyway, thanks!!

Always,

Heidi Emhoff

Hi Heidi

You have to update the book for book-wide numbering to work (i.e. be
updated).

cheers

Dave

For example, in chapter 1, if my last graphic was Figure 1, then in chapter 2 when when I insert the caption for my first figure, I want it to be labeled Figure 2. I have set the Document Properties for Paragraph Numbering to "Continue from Previous File in Book" but that is not helping; in every chapter, the figure numbering is starting over again.
