A good way to reduce PDF file size without harming graphics resolution is Document > Examine Document, which finds a bunch of things that can be removed from the document (hidden text, deleted or cropped content, etc.). It can also remove metadata and bookmarks if you don't want them, and even if you uncheck all items and click Remove it still shrinks the file substantially.
