Fred and Stuart:

Thanks for the suggestions. I checked each file in the book and found the one that was corrupt. My solution was to copy everything into a new file and save it and then save it as the original file. The book now updates correctly.

Thanks,

What specifically do you mean by "generate a book"?

Do you mean generate/update the generated files (TOC, LOF, LOT, IX) in an Update Book operation? If so, which type(s) of generated files do you have in the book? Have you tried removing them one at a time?

Or do you mean generate a PDF of the book? If so, what method of making the PDF are you using? Print to Adobe PDF virtual printer? Save As PDF? Print to PS file, then distill? And what version of Distiller and/or Acrobat are you using?

Also, what OS are you using? Frame 7.0 is pretty old, and it is reportedly not happy with the latest version of Windows.

Have you tried rebuilding a new book file? Even if you have 1 hundred chapter files, it should only take you about a half-hour to build a brand-new book file to see if that where the problem is. If it works, just discard the old book file and move on. Book files don't contain any actual content, so you're really not losing anything.

I keep receiving an internal error message and Frame crashes when I try to generate a book.

The error log contains these Internal Error numbers: 7004, 4817875, 4817573, 5204561

I can generate other books, however.

Any ideas what I can do to fix this one book?

Thanks in advance,
