In the Windows version of FrameMaker, the information on font metrics (the precise width and height of each glyph) comes from the Windows printer driver. Whenever you change the specified printer, FrameMaker displays the warning because it is now using a different set of font metrics. There may or may not be any significant differences between the metrics, but FrameMaker warns you because there is the *possibility* that some "close call" line breaks may change, which can possibly change the lengths of paragraphs, which can possiby change the way pages break, which can possibly change the length of chanpters, whihc can possibly render all the page numbers in your ToC and index inaccurate. Anyone who has ever used Microsoft Word on more than one computer is likely to be painfuly familiar wich this scenario because Word is subject to the same font metrics gotcha (except that it never warns the user about it).
