FM 9p255 only uses 25% of CPU no matter what

Hi Rob,

FM9 is compatible with Win7 and I don't see any reason why it runs in WinXP compatibility mode on your PC. Framemaker 9 crashes because it is buggy. I would call it a "beta version of Framemaker with the new interface". When I upgraded to FMv10, all the stability issues that you describe almost disappeared. I can't say that FMv10 does not crash at all, but it does so very rarely.

Roman

Subject: FM 9p255 only uses 25% of CPU no matter what

Hi Framers:
I have taken to watching FM9 crash using task manager and winternals.
What struck me is that no matter what load was put on FM9, it never used
more than 25% of the CPU. It hovered at 24.9 but never above.
Does that means only one of the four processors is being accessed. All
coprocessors are working...
Added to this disturbing reading (and maybe I have misunderstood how quads
work) Windows 7 reports on running the compatibility add-on that FM is
"INCOMPATIBLE" with windows 7.
It tries to run it under the XP shell, but that makes FM very slow.
My feeling is that FM9 was designed for Vista and nobody bothered to fix it
after windows 7 was introduced.
The last patch was two years ago. I know there are a lot of people out there
who have the same issues.
Plus, there are some shocking reviews.
