This one has me stumped. Filenames below simplified for the sake of brevity.
FM 10/Win 7 Enterprise, 64-bit.
I have a master book (BIG.book).
Within it I have 3 books (A.book, B.book, C.book) and a generated index (BIGIX.fm).
Within each of those 3 books are individual chapter FM files. At each of the book levels, I have the numbering settings set to "Read from file" for all attributes, however when I go to "Update book" to generate the master index, the page numbers and footnote numbers for the individual FM files all get renumbered to continue sequentially from the previous chapter.
I don't have that numbering setting set ANYWHERE for any of the .book or .fm files. Why is generating the index renumbering anything at all?
Even if I disable "Numbering" in the "Update Book" dialog, it still changes the page numbers and footnote numbers to inherit from the preceding file.
What gives?
