Many have heard of the power of FrameMaker 11's ExtendScript, but not that many people have experienced it's potential and power for themselves. Long time FrameMaker user, Chris Despopoulos, has had extensive experience with ExtendScript, from a strictly practical basis. As an in-demand Tech Writer and developer, he has frequently worked on projects involving document conversion and other issues that can lead to countless, tedious manual processes. Like:

Finding and removing all blank paragraphs
Universally locating and removing manually entered bullets and tabs in "lists"
Globally changing the position of all anchored frames

The ExtendScript Toolkit in FrameMaker 11 enables even end-users to develop simple scripts that take care of challenges bigger than these in mere seconds. Chris will use a few slides to summarize key points, but the bulk of his presentation will be practical, live demonstrations. He also plans to have several sample scripts that you can download during the webinar to try out for yourself. This promises to be a highly engaging and educational session on a rarely covered aspect of FrameMaker 11.

About the Presenter: Chris Despopoulos worked with early versions of FrameMaker as a tech writer and QA tester at Frame Technology. He has done extensive development with DITA/XML and high end authoring tools besides FrameMaker. Chris has spent most of his professional life as a Tech Writer and Content Developer for complex products, often working in an agile environment. He currently resides and works from the north coast of Spain.
