Just grasping at a straw here, since I no longer have the beginning of this thread to backtrack to a detailed description of the problem, but perhaps changing your setting at File> Preferences> Interface> Hide Panels on Close would make a difference. If you have that box checked, closing a panel doesn't actually close it. It only hides it. Mike Wickham
