As a side comment, the documentation seems to be incorrect to me. I hope it does _not_ do what I think it says it does:

To me a MIF Wash would be where it saves the a file as a MIF, closes the file (in memory), _then_ re-reads the MIF file, and _finally_ saves the fm file format as a last step.

I.e., not a save of both the MIF _and_ the fm file "at the same time" ... what is the point in doing that?
