No idea - people just keep replying to me directly instead of to the list ;>)

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for the information. We are running the acroiefavclient.dll, which is the Internet Explorer Acrobat plugin. I'm not sure how to get the actual Acrobat Reader application to run instead. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
--Ben

Jeff,
If you are viewing a PDF on SharePoint, it is more than likely using a browser PDF reader, which is not really Acrobat (unless you have installed the plugin). It seems like you are probably viewing the PDF on SharePoint via (IE) Explorer. The browser PDF 'reader' does not pick up all of the attributes of the PDF. But, you use the Adobe Reader plugin, this should solve the problem.
I hope this is helpful.

Hmm..must be something to do with PDFs and security maybe? If that were the case I wouldn't have expected them to work at all. Maybe it's got something to do with SharePoint?

Still doesn't seem to work.

All of the PDFs work just fine on my local drive and on our company's shared drive. But, as soon as I push them to SharePoint and view them there, the links still only take you to the first page of the PDF, not the sub-heading within that PDF (i.e., page 3 or 4).

It wouldn't hurt anything - I think it just might make the PDF larger that's all

Hi Jeff,

Thanks,

When you created the PDF, did you selected "Named Destinations" or something like that?

Frame Gang,

I have a Frame 10 book with about30 to 40 chapters in it. When I save the book to PDF (output to individual PDFs) the TOC hyperlinks work just fine. I can open the TOC PDF, click a sub-heading within a chapter, and it opens that particular PDF to the exact heading.

When I load all of the PDFs to our SharePoint site (SharePoint 2010) and try to access the sub-heading of a chapter from the TOC PDF, the hyperlinks opens the appropriate PDF, but it does NOT take me to the proper sub-heading. It just opens to the first page of the PDF.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a fix?

Thanks for any advice!
