TOC format that won't go away

Esteemed colleagues,

My sincere thanks to all of you who offered me such excellent advice and insight. I have solved the problem and I am now much more familiar with a part of FrameMaker that I rarely needed to examine. As usual the response was overwhelming and, I may say, typical of the great members of this forum.
