Scrolling pages issue

Years ago, I went to the launch event for Adobe InDesign. They said they’d written an entirely new rendering engine using modern, modular code. There was some speculation at the time that this would eventually make it into FrameMaker, but given that it’s been more than a decade, it seems that’s not going to happen.

I still can’t believe that I have to periodically hit CTRL-L to manually refresh the screen.

FrameMaker has always had horrific graphics performance. Whatever it’s doing under the hood with respect to page rendering is abysmal.

I’m running a top end Intel Core i7 CPU with 32GB of RAM, 64-bit OS, dedicated graphics card, and the performance when paging up or down in FM12 is STILL Gawdawful.

Good morning,

I wonder if anyone else is experience a similar issue?

I am running Framemaker 12 on a Windows 7 laptop:  Intel Core i3-3110m CPU @ 2.4GHz with 8GB RAM.

Whenever I scroll using the vertical scroll-bar, I am constantly frustrated at having to wait 4/5 seconds for the next page to load. We tried increasing RAM from 4GB to 8GB but this has not made any improvement.

Can anyone suggest a way to improve the situation, please?
