[Framers] Why do my ohm symbols keep turning into capital O?

What happens if you insert the ohm using the Frame character palette (File > Utilities > Character Palette…) instead of the key sequence?

I'm confused by the "turning into". Does it come in as an Omega and then change later? Could it be that your installation is substituting a font for Myriad Pro and you not be aware of it?

Yes, it does. It's a UNICODE font from Adobe.
