FM 14/15 (2017/2019):
Open the file %appdata%\Adobe\FrameMaker\14\maker.ini or ...\5\... and look into 
[Preferences]
FindStrings =HISTORY, comma seprated list of at most 9 items
ChangeStrings =HISTORY, comma seprated list of at most 9 items

You can delete the comma seprated list of at most 9 items. It will be re-started at 
the next Text search. The last used/entered is inserted directly behind the word 
HISTORY,
