[Framers] Strange copy and past behaviour from Word

Hi
I am working with Frame 2017

I am copying some things from Word 2013 to the document

If I choose  Paste Special/Text   when I paste, there are strange question
marks in the pasted material.

If I just click paste - I do not get this

does anyone know what could be causing this?
