[Framers] What is going on with Adobe Licensing for FrameMaker?

If this is indeed the case (it would be nice to get something definitive from Adobe directly, not just second-hand interpretations that are all over the map), then I think a lot of users will be stand pat on FM2019 for a considerable period of time, at least until it is no longer compatible with Windows 14, or whatever version breaks it.

Either or both of these happening "stinks" shame on Adobe.

Adobe is discontinuing support for any type of upgrade for perpetual licenses.
Adobe will be switching OFF perpetual licenses [both for new & renewal] WORLDWIDE.

All that means is that you won't get a break on the cheaper upgrade to the latest version. You still will be able to get a perpetual license for FM2019 - you'll just pay more for it.

Richard

Just to give you a heads up, within few months Adobe is discontinuing support for any type of upgrade for perpetual licenses. The Adobe Software assurance is getting eliminated.

I would recommend if you want to upgrade your Adobe Technical communication Suite to the latest version then now is the right time.

The cost would around 600 USD. That's the best which we can offer. Do speak to your internal team and let me know as I would be able to upgrade the suite from 2017 to 2019 now. This option of upgrade won't be there after some time.

Regards,
Anuj

I haven't heard this, and I'd be suspicious of someone calling you, too.
Sounds too much like the "your Windows license is about to expire" scam calls.

If I were you (or your boss), I would contact Adobe support directly and ask about this.
