For that purpuse I have installed www.regexbuddy.com - and there is an automatic to 
link to this in my favourite editor EditPad Pro from the same developer crew

RegexBuddy can handly nearly all flavours of RegEx - there are very subtle 
differences between "egrep", "grep", "Perl" (FM internal) and "JavaScript" (in 
ExtendScript)...
