It's also my experience that keeping applications open to long (especially across
hibernation/wake up) that things may go wrong. It's not only FM where I have
experienced this. IMHO these are situations which are simple not tested enough... and
yes, there are still memory leaks in many applications.
A stress test for my script FMvars with a document containing 1000 user variables
revealed in FM-14 (aka Edition 2017):
Opening documents and then closing them does not reduce the memory usage. Hence after
working on numerous documents the memory usage may be significantly increased.
