Framemaker 7.2 importing PageMaker files

I wonder if anybody can tell me if they have successfully imported PageMaker 
files into Framemaker as advertised. Are the pages respected etc.?
I am about to upgrade and want to know the worst.

The attachments I sometimes send are in .pdf (portable document format). 
This is most useful as the format  is stable across most platforms (unlike 
Microsoft Word which is not stable).
You may download a free version of Acrobat 6 from the Adobe.com website.
You simply type adobe.com into your webbrowser and follow the prompts. You 
can extract text with AA6 so one really gets the best of both worlds.
If you still cannot manage ask for an rtf version.
