Trick for wrapping entries for indexes query

Dear Fred and other framers.
 I certainly did not know the TOC trick. Thanks! 
How would one translate the trick into the index.
Exactly where would I set the extra tab?

In the first example below the page number "5309" wraps to the beginning of
the line as the entry is too long, while the second entry is correct
Agolinia van Maloniana van Rio Delegoa van Kaap] (died 1737)
 				5309
Agrietje van Rio Delegoa (matronym 1737) 		5307
