Fm book with .xml files

Hi,

for a project we use a FM book with .xml files (not DITA, it's customized Docbook). The book file has valid XML structure (book, chapters etc).

If I save the book to XML the referenced .xml files are omitted from the resulting XML.

Any advice how to get a XML from the book file with all referenced .xml files in it?
